This course introduces students to visual storytelling through hands-on projects in animation, storyboarding, game development, and character design. It lays a foundation for careers in the entertainment arts. Traditional, 2D, and 3D programs are used to create realistic and cartoon characters, props, and environments. Peers and pros review student work uploaded to the ACME animation website and presented in videoconferences. Guest speakers from college art programs clarify how students can pursue related careers.
 
Art of Animation Advanced

This course helps students develop more technical competence, industry readiness, and personal creative expression in a variety of animation-related practices. It builds on concepts and skills covered in Art of Animation 1 with more focus on work with audio, 3D, and short animated films. ACME Animation website feedback and industry pro videoconferencing help guide students toward projects suitable for college admissions portfolios and reels. Guest speakers from college art programs clarify how students can pursue related careers. Course may be repeated for credit.
