STAGECRAFT/ THEATRICAL PRODUCTION (CTE PATHWAY)

Basic Stagecraft
9, 10, 11, 12
Length of Course: Semester *Prerequisite

This course trains the student in all areas of theatre practice except acting. The student becomes proficient in analyzing set design, color, lighting, costuming, and stage make-up. Practical experience is gained in the construction of sets and stage materials. Course can be taken more than once for credit.  Basic Stagecraft is the prerequisite for Advanced Stagecraft (Honors) and Theatrical Production, and provides Fine Arts Credit for High School Graduation.  This is a daytime course during the school day, but does require 10 hours per semester of "crew" work after the bell.  This can be fullfilled by working the snack bars during intermission for our shows, selling tickets, ushering, etc.
